POLISH
PROGRESSIVE, INDIPENDENT AND
ORIGINAL FOLK MUSIC LINKS
PROGRESSIVE AND INDIPENDENT MUSIC :
Underground Polish music ("from folk to avant garde") with sound fragments :
(accoustic experimental) and the psychedelic earth folk from Atman of course : see my pages.
Most interesting progressive groups I think are (all with sound fragments):
For more traditional music :
And * Pepik Records (distributor of lots of good Polish but also Tchechien Music) :
Some interesting artists they have :
* Dunaj is pretty known as an underground Tchechien band who worked with Bitova : (one more psychedelic sound fragment, covers and info in Polish)
* A known alternative avant-garde group (CZ) there is Plastic People of the Universe (one sound fragment) :
* The international know and most recommended violin player and singer Iva Bittovà
* Pavl Fajt, husband of Bittovà is a composer/percussionist who plays in such a refined way it fits often with folk music ; I heared their group Pluto should be nice too.
* Uz Jsme Doma.
And * the Industrial label Requiem Production Records :
with * Konca Kaniec * Nemezis * Schistosoma * Kuna
and Gustaf Records
Further the label provides some seperate page like for
* Ireneusza Socha (avant garde ?)
And * Nowe Zjawy label with * The folk group Kapella Ze Wsi Warsawa
* Niemen is sometimes a bit The Nice-inspired at http://www.trytel.com/~skok/niemen.html from which I have the very 'nice' "Enigmatic", with choir and lots of organ. I heared a few less interesting items too.
(I have the beautiful live'79 which containes one of my top 30 melancholic tracks)
Another prog group from Art-rock web ring :
Of course there's metal music too in Poland . From this kind of music I am only interested in the heavenly voices, classical music and progressive music influences.
I like the group Artrosis for instance and for sure their album "Posrod Kwiatow i Cieni".
Rockserwis is another company which hase progressive (Polish) items
(If I ever will be able I will add one more page about Polish progressive during the 70's).
